Hi Tenyari,
I really like this short piece and look forward to reading more - forward to Blanke Schande or back into history - or even better both.

Hey tenyari!

I know I'm quite late to the party -- gonna blame that on a summer project, one that needs to be completed before the rains return.

This sure was fun -- it really cooks along! Some of the explanation for that came in your comment, about it being part 4. I imagine you had to work to add in detail that would have been unneeded had the reader already consumed parts 1-3.

At the conclusion of the story, I found myself wishing for an alternate future for Jacaranda, one in which she decides to keep with her commitment to join the convent. Given her DNA and resulting libido, not to mention her need to remain nude, that could make for an interesting ride. I imagine the sisters would work with her after being convinced that her faith was indeed genuine. Possible a steel 'habit' could be fashioned for her ... and she'd have to be very careful to stay away from chocolate!

But a BSC future for Jacaranda is also good. I'm just not personally very familiar with Blanke Schande. I've seen mention of it, but have never read a story based there.

Okay, I know the contest deadlines have all passed, but I can still give you an award (in my humble opinion). How about:

Those who are unfamiliar with history are doomed to repeat it BUT those who are aware of history will likely be dealing with some major challenges as well AWARD.

That stood out to me as remarkably creative. This aspect:

In some ways it was a very fitting place for an Alien. Some of the last battles of the Spanish conquest of the Aztec took place here. This was where two civilizations met rather poorly; but birthed a third. And once again in her grandmother’s time, two civilizations met, this time in peace; and again a third people emerged, people like Jacaranda. She was the ultimate Mestizo.
BRAVO! The Ultimate Mestizo! (love that)

Your in depth knowledge of history and cultures shines through! And that one paragraph -- so much packed into it. So well written!

I'm going to end my comment there, on a high point. I could go on, but I'd risk watering down how much I am taken with this aspect of your story by doing so.

I'm looking forward to more of this tale. Given how well you did at describing the setting as well as the main character's background, I'm not feeling the need for parts 1-3, but I'll definitely read (and enjoy) them if posted.

Your friend,
Blair

PS: Your first posted story since 2008? That makes me sad. So much ability! I hope you are at least channeling it into other creative endeavors. Such talent should not be wasted!

Yeah a week on, but I finally figured out a more fitting title for this story. ;)Given what the character is trying to do when her problems start.

I was torn between either of

Nun-thing to Worry About
Nun-Thing Going On

But the first seems a little more fitting.

I've toyed with a "naked in space" themed story myself. Even started on it for the dialog contest. It was a challenge to explain the setting in the dialog instead of a simple prologue.
Brief Glimpse of a Larger World Award

I enjoyed this and look forward to seeing the prequel and subsequent chapters.

Thanks for sharing Tenyari. This was creative and wild. Plus I know what it's like to fight with that 2000 words number.
The setting is my way to ‘give myself a creative space’ that meets the thrill I had in the NiS setting, but with adult characters through a ‘dash’ of Sci-Fi.
Seems like more than a Dash, but that's fine. This storyline has a lot of potential for drama and action. I mean, you already established a lot, but there is room to play with her elf-like look, and she might have to watch out of those that want to capture her 'body' or 'heart' depending on your plotting style, and she could protect herself perhaps with some kind of unexpected alien superpower perhaps, if needed, but a minor one so that there is still exciting uncertainty in the air. Sorry, that was probably overly suggestive. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your other chapters.

Cool Blade Runner-like Sci-fi Award. Cute Elf-like Alien Award. Immersive Dialog Award. Positively Granny Panties Award. The Chocolate Surprise Award. First Public Orgasm Award. Nun Dreams Up in Smoke Award. The Future Blanke Schande Award.

So... this is my first posted 'story' since 2008. Been a while.

This is actually 'Part 4' of a 5+ part series, taking place about "100 years in the future". Parts 1-3 being the story of her grandmother which takes place "a few years from now". This part is 'stand alone' enough to go out by itself, and well, was written in about 2 hours last night for the 2k challenge. :)

It is EXACTLY 2000 words in LibreOffice. I spent another 4 hours after writing adding and removing words until I managed to hit that number on the nose.

The 1-3 parts are 'close to ready' and will give more about the setting. The setting is my way to 'give myself a creative space' that meets the thrill I had in the NiS setting, but with adult characters through a 'dash' of Sci-Fi.

SPOILLER: A little on the 'Alien Girls':

Earth fibers are acidic to their DNA. Pretty much anything other than metal, stone, and wood. Puberty triggers the 'allergy' and adolescent hormones suppress it - meaning it hits in early adulthood. Age 18-19 usually. Jacaranda is the first 1/4 Alien, and believed she had not inherited the problem.

When it's active, they can't even sleep in a bed or hold a purse strap. Sexual activity emits hormones that suppress it, and an orgasm basically washes them in suppression enough for a good night's sleep - but open air or heavy physical activity burns off the suppression in minutes or seconds.

Chocolate is an extreme aphrodisiac for them, because it gave me a way to make the stories go silly anytime a character accidentally eats chocolate.
