It’s delightful to see you back! It’s delightful to be back! I missed writing and posting and all that entails. As you know, there are quite a few aspects to it. Among them, is the chance to hear first-hand the thoughts of readers as they react to one’s best effort. And it is particularly fun to correspond with them — especially those readers who aren’t shy about sharing their own opinions even when it goes against what’s taking place in the story (cough, Molly).

To be truthful, I sort of theorized the existence of this mindset. I have to say, I’m delighted to find a little validation in your words.

Others seemed to agree. I did receive some push-back at the end of the prior chapter, given what Jessa was talking about doing. But, like you say, it seemed to work for readers that she “came to her senses” and didn’t see it through.
 

Women often make the mistake of “teasing” men in ways that they would not appreciate if the roles were reversed.

I haven’t encountered many of these women in real life, but I’m sure they exist.

Thanks for your comment. I expect I’ll have more to say later. Subject 192 was indeed interest, but it was Subject 147 that knocked my socks off (more on that later).

But since you’re here, I think there might be at least one episode of The Resort Ambassador that you haven’t seen (at least, I don’t recall you commenting on it). You might want to check it out. ReaderMan and I both took months-long breaks … but now we’re both again active on the board.

This is a good chapter with a nice balance of relationship stuff and then a quick transition to action at the end. I have to say I was biting my lip reading the first part of this chapter and hoping Jessa would not do what she seemed so intent on doing.  Reminded me of girls I knew in college who seemed to follow the same flawed logic: My boyfriend did a disrespectful thing to make me mad so … I “showed him” by giving him a really great blowjob. Fortunately, Jessa came to her senses and turned the situation around.

And goodness, our author certainly spends a chunk of narrative describing at length the technique of a person who prides herself on giving a fabulous blowjob. Knowing our author, I imagine that he conducted extensive interviews with experienced blowjob-givers in order to write this passage.  I picture Prof. Clavel in his white lab coat typing up his notes at the end of another long day of research.  “Subject 192, female, states that she breathes through her nose to suppress the gag reflex and also states that she always swallows. Subject 193 . . .”

Although it is fun to see Jessa continuing to tease Nick sexually the next day, I would advise her to reconsider some of these behaviors. Women often make the mistake of “teasing” men in ways that they would not appreciate if the roles were reversed.  Regardless of gender, it is not cool to push your partner to submit to sex when he/she clearly says they don’t feel like it right now. Same thing with grabbing a dude’s crotch out of the blue because when you do that you give HIM license to do the same thing to YOU another time. 

And although I realize Jessa is currently going nude reluctantly, if she later decides she wants to do that more routinely (either to include Catherine in her social life or just because she decides she is now comfortable going nude around people) then it will be important to establish boundaries for the people around her, including her man. Boundaries only work when you honor them yourself.

To end the loop, in France near the Swiss Border, there’s a town named “Saint Claude”.
This city is well-known because of its pipe (for smokers) factories.
Another thing you should know, is that here, the name “Claude” can also indistinctly be used as male or female name too.
Then, while the correct French word used to name a “blowjob” is “Fellation”, the current one (slang) is “pipe”, the same word as for the object used to smoke tobacco!

To sum up, there is a typical French joke about the skills that women from Saint Claude may have developed. :-))

This exactly. He’s again deciding for her. It only makes her more angry at him, even though under normal circumstances, he’s doing the right thing. He’s still doing the right thing, but he’s also being an ass.

Nick just can’t win, can he? He finally does the right thing, and he gets Jessa mad at him. And if that’s not bad enough, you call him an ‘ass.’
 

But, our esteemed writer throws us for a loop. Not just once, but multiple times! This is amazingly written. Jessa’s drunk thoughts throughout, going back and forth. Tangential thoughts, even her mom is admonishing her during such a moment, showing how much of an influence her mom has on her, despite her rebelliousness.

I don’t really know what to say. I just wanted to quote that in my response. It’s quite a compliment. Be careful. Say things like that too often and I’m bound to get a fat head.
 

Another surprising moment. Surprising, because I found myself starting to feel sorry for Nick in this moment. Does he really deserve this? Yes, no, I’m not sure anymore.

I’m actually surprised that I have you (of all people) actually “starting to feel sorry for Nick.” One minute he’s an ass, the next you are feeling sorry for him. Now who is throwing who for a loop? But I know what you are saying. I’m very glad that I was able to pull that off such that you are experiencing the emotions felt on both sides this relationship.
 

I love Cathers.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I was AWOL, and you stepped in, responding to comments in my stead. What you know and others don’t, is that I was off caring for a sick friend. That’s a sad situation, tragic actually, but no need to go into any detail here. I just wanted you to know that I noticed and I wish to thank you publicly. Okay, enough on that score — back to Jessa, Cathers and Nick!
 

He is helping their whole family with an old grievous wound, a terrible loss. But even more interesting, is the fact that Catherine, is helping HIM do his job. Catherine is also helping herself, Jessa, and potentially others.

Thank you for that observation. I expect others are realizing it as well. This is an unusual team, to be sure, but they each bring an important skill set to the table.
 

I can totally relate to Nick’s feelings for Catherine. This is big, really big. And Catherine is the centre of it all, a humble, fun young woman who has been ignored, invisible – all these years. Nick might not see her directly, but oh man does he ever see her.

I think you summed that up better than I might have been able to. Nick only has indirect evidence that she exists, and yet she is important to him. When Kim calls her a snitch, his hackles go up. Arthwys commented on that quite eloquently as well.

It was well done and pleasant to read. ‘Blair’ is indeed a first name that can be either male or female.

That’s quite a compliment really. I’m taking it to mean (hopefully I’m not mistaken) that I have done a decent job of rendering Jessa’s (a woman’s) inner thoughts and feelings. It’s not easy, as I’m sure you know. Women are complex creatures. I don’t say that lightly. I’m full of admiration for everything female … so strong and in so many ways.
