I have been playing with many stories and wanted to push one up to being able to submit for one of these contests for my first public sharing. They all will be too long for this one. Then I remembered one I had written close to 30 years ago and shared with just a couple of people. It was based on a real experience of mine. I lost that story years ago but recreated it last night with a few alterations. You can probably spot where reality turns into imagination.
David went to bed with a cough and body aches. The chirping birds that woke him in the morning didn’t make him feel any better. In fact, he was miserable. He thought about calling into work but he remembered that he had talked to his boss the evening before and mentioned that he thought he was coming down with the flu.
He made his way to the toilet successfully and had to psych himself up to stand up and get some juice. From the kitchen, the sofa was closer than his bed. He sat down, had a sip, and turned on the tv. In the seconds it took to warm up he bundled himself in a blanket against the chill of his fever and lay down.
That was when he realized he didn’t take any medicine for his flu. He thought about getting up right away, but he just couldn’t muster the energy. Then he noticed that the remote was out of reach. But he couldn’t do anything about it.
He napped fitfully, interrupted with snippets of dreams: Geordi LaForge reading stories, Ringo Starr and George Carlin talking about trains, and some Jurassic Park ripoff with terrible effects.
Finally, his fever broke and he flushed and flung off his sodden blanket and night clothes. But he was still exhausted and fell asleep again.
He awoke to the sound of the front door closing and someone calling out something. He hoped it was his girlfriend because he couldn’t do anything about an intruder.
Denise walked up to the doorway behind him and studied the scene for a moment. “You look like a toddler that woke up before his parents. Watching PBS Kids, spilled your juice, and stripped of your wet clothes. And we have company!”
David was embarrassed by his nudity and asked who while failing to reach for the blanket. All he managed was to roll onto his front for a little coverage.
“I told you I was meeting my old friend Sally. We grew up together and shared our first dorm room in college.”
Just then Sally rounded the corner and gasped.
Denise reached for the blanket to cover him while apologizing and explaining that David was sick.
“I can’t cover you with this, it is soaked and is freezing, and you are a sticky mess. Sally, can you put our old babysitting team skills to work and help me get him bathed and in bed?”
David was mortified as they helped him up and walked him naked to the bathroom. They were under each arm so he couldn’t even cover himself. He was weak but with the surge of adrenaline due to the shock of his exposure was very alert and didn’t miss much of the women’s eye conversation. He didn’t know what they were saying in it but he knew he was the subject. They sat him down on the toilet while Denise started filling the tub.
Denise said, “While that is filling let me get those wet things in the wash and start on that juice spill.”
Sally’s first words to David were “I’m sure she didn’t want to ask me to clean up the house and didn’t realize that would leave us here alone together with you like this. I would leave you, but I’m not sure that would be safe.”
David tried to apologize and make her comfortable when he realized where he was sitting and what it looked like. Another wave of humiliation swept over him. Sally noticed his glance at the commode and assumed he was embarrassed because he needed to use it. “Go ahead, I’ll step to the doorway to give you some space, I’m used to seeing that in my line of work.”
Up until that point, he didn’t recognize that he actually did need to pee. With trepidation and rationalizing that it was necessary and now permitted, he managed to make himself go. That didn’t make him feel any better about it afterward. He couldn’t believe that within a few minutes of first seeing each other she had seen him naked, touched him, and witnessed him relieve himself.
Denise came back and the two of them carefully helped him into the tub. “I’m sorry I left you two alone like that. That must have been a bit awkward.”
Sally quipped, “Oh, we’re old friends now, didn’t even notice.”
David started to find a bit of the humor in the situation and chuckled slightly while reaching for the soap. Sally interrupted, “Oh no, if I’m going to get my $5 babysitting money I’ve got to wash you and get you to bed before bedtime.”
They all had a good laugh at that. “Tell you what, why don’t I wash his top half while you finish up and get some towels for us, and you can do the bottom half when you get back. Unless you’d like to swap?”
“Oh no, I’d like to keep my hands on my boyfriend’s privates. Well, they used to be.”
Things were getting all too casual for David. He really didn’t want Denise to leave them again but he didn’t want to imply that he didn’t trust Sally. So he kept his mouth shut.
Sally grabbed the soap and the washcloth and started washing his hands and arms. She started telling him stories of bathing little boys when she babysat as a young teen.
“There is nothing naughty about it, just like back then. I’m just doing something for you that would be difficult for you.” She took care of his chest and back quite professionally. She cupped her hands to wet his head and shampooed his hair. It was so calming that his mind drifted off and he was relaxing finally. He slid down a bit just as Sally was cupping more water to rinse his hair and the back of her hand brushed his penis. They both apologized simultaneously.
His shame came flooding back along with a stirring between his legs. He grabbed the washcloth and covered himself in the definition of too little, too late. The tent was if anything calling more attention to his situation. Denise arrived at just the wrong moment and cocked an eyebrow with a bemused smirk.
Sally excused herself and let Denise take over in private. “I assume I don’t need to worry about losing you or my friend?” While starting on his feet and working up.
“No, she was very professional. . . This is all too much for me. . . We both moved at the same time. . .”
“It’s fine, I know nothing was meant by either of you. You truly scared me, I had no idea you were that sick. Are you hungry or should we get you into bed after this?”
The serious conversation distracted him and he hardly noticed her finishing his penis and bottom. David felt he missed out and said, “Can we do this again soon so that I can pay more attention to your technique? Oh, and I am tired and couldn’t eat, so bed for now.”
“You must be feeling better to ask that. Sounds like a nice plan. Let’s get Sally back to help me get you up and into bed.”
It took a bit of doing to get him safely standing. The women dried the parts they
washed and got him sitting on the bed.
Sally couldn’t resist a callback to babysitting, “Now are you safe from accidents, or do we need to put a pullup on you?”
David responded, “What, do you have some in your car?”
Both women were confused, “Why would I have. . .”
“You were so professional and you said you were used to the situation with your work. I thought you were a home health nurse or something.”
“Well something, I’m a vet, I am used to body functions and calming so bathing is quick and stress-free.”
David groaned and pulled the sheet over both his body and face. He was reliving the whole evening ashamed of his exposure and now his misunderstanding.
Denise and Sally had some wine and caught up some more. Only about half of the conversation was laughing at the situation with David. Denise checked on David several times before Sally left.
As she was carefully getting into bed so as not to wake David, she started to cough. David woke up and asked, “Should I invite my first college roommate over tomorrow evening?”
You have been wonderfully supportive of many of stories for years with solid comments, so it’s great to see you posting Dimitrii. Welcome to the other side of the fence!
Unexpected Guest Award. Easy to Read Writing Style Award. Funny Left Alone Award. Simultaneous Apologetic Hand Award. Great Realism Award. Classy ENM Award. Good Humour Award. Fun Ending Award.
I think I can see where reality turns to fantasy. Thanks for sharing Demitrii. Excellent story.
I forgot to add… The Partially True Story Award. Yep, no wonder the realism was so good.
Thanks for your praise ReaderMan. I was worried that I rushed the release. I always envisioned that I would get feedback/editing from one or more of the established authors here before first publishing. But with wanting to enter a contest and a short story I risked it.
I really did spend nearly all of the daylight hours of one day on the couch watching PBS kids shows off and on, wishing I could change the channel but never having the energy to sit up to reach the remote.
I later discovered that the noise from the front door was a maintenance guy hanging a notice that the back entrance to the apartment complex would be closed for several days. I did have a girlfriend but she lived in another town and did not have a key. But I thought in my addled state I had forgotten plans or had missed enough calls that she was checking on me. That started the musing on a story idea.
Haha… I thought it was true, almost up until the point where her friend was accidentally touching things. Even better that this was all your creative imagination.
Even higher praise that you placed the break so deeply.
When I first thought about it at the time I had my girlfriend go around to my private patio and spot me through the blinds. She had to get the office staff to let her in, but they wouldn’t until they saw I was unresponsive. Later I changed it to essentially this story but with only my girlfriend and we went further. I figured a longer escalation was better than brief exposure to at most a couple of strangers. That is the one I shared with a couple of friends back then. The friend was a recent addition with this site in mind.
Hi Dimirtii,
So delightful to see a contest entry with your byline!
This Could Happen to Anyone Award!
And it probably could. I can imagine stripping down to my underwear. Fully nude? That would be a stretch, for me, but maybe not completely inconceivable.
“Reality Turns into Imagination” Award.
Wonderful source for a story.
Something I Need to Make Use of someday Award.
Because women do that. It’s especially easy to imagine in the presence of a nude guy. If I were going to suggest an enhancement, it would be a hardon. Even sick, what guy wouldn’t pop a boner under such a CFNM situation? That would have been very embarrassing, adding nicely to David’s embarrassment!
Such a Great Excuse for Helping Bathe a Naked Man Award!
What an awesome line that is. And “interrupted” — a wonderful dialogue tag. It’s one that I don’t think I’ve ever used, but going forward, I’ll have to.
A sweet ending — because turnabout is fair play!
TBH, my guess for where reality turned into imagination was the “And we have company!” moment. To me it was plausible that he and Denise were living together, so having her walk in didn’t seem at all unusual.
So glad to finally have the opportunity to reciprocate and comment on a Dimitrii story! I hope the others you mentioned in the opening paragraph will also see the light of day — possibly as entries in future story contests!
Warm Regards,
Blair
Blair, thanks so much for your praise and detailed comments. I envisioned having you give my first foray into releasing a story here a once over for editing. This short contest spurred me to finish a story and didn’t want to miss the deadline or desired line as it turned out.
Many people sleep naked so would likely only be in a robe in this situation, many others wear PJs alone. With the flush of a high fever breaking and being alone behind locked doors, I think most would.
Sometimes saying something can’t compare to what isn’t said, at least in words.
On my first pass, I considered that and didn’t want it too early. Kept pushing it further back for a final escalation. By the time he was in bed, I had the job misunderstanding and it didn’t seem to fit. When I went back looking to add it to the bath I didn’t want it to happen when Sally was alone with him and it wouldn’t be a big deal alone with his girlfriend. And then I noticed that I was right at the 2K goal anyway and punted. Now it occurs to me it could have been good for it to not go down when needing help getting out of the tub. Oh well.
I enjoy joking around so that came naturally to me. Glad fixing all my “saids” afforded me the opportunity to spot a much better option.
I felt honored to be able to read those works before others and look forward to giving you the opportunity to go over mine. I have been fleshing out the outlines of many of my ideas so I don’t lose them and started on dialogue for a couple.
One has many people thrust together for a nude experience and it occurred to me that I could use the crowd to tell their backstories as many of my outlined ideas. Sort of a twisted Canterbury Tales. Then I thought I could invite others to add their tales of remembered first public nudity, which immediately struck me as presumptuous.
Instead of committing to any course, I guess I should get the story to that point and see where it goes and what people’s reactions are.
