“When you start school next week, Sophie will get the chance to interact with Annie’s former classmates. My hope is that this interaction will help bring Annie back out to the surface. If that works, then Annie will be aware that she is running around the school naked. Considering her sense of modesty, this should give Annie the fighting energy she needs to regain control.” Dr. Crowe said calmly.

Josh nodded along while she spoke. “But won’t Annie be mad at us for exposing her like that?”

“Probably furious.” Dr. Crowe agreed. “But my bigger concern is how she will cope after she has regained herself.”

Josh gave me a concerned look before asking, “What’s gonna happen to Annie?”

Dr. Crowe put her hand on Josh’s wrist for reassurance. “Don’t worry. Annie’s going to be fine. But as a woman, I need to experience what she is going through as best I can. What is it like to be deprived of clothes day after day? I need to experience that for myself for a while so I can understand better how to treat her when she comes back to us. Do you understand?”

Josh hesitated for a moment before nodding, “I think so. So you’re going to the office like… THAT?”

Dr. Crowe pressed her lips to a tight line for a second and she thought through the question. Finally, she decided, “Not today. I don’t think I’m so bold as to go outside the whole day like this. Today I’ll work from home.”

Josh nodded. “So you don’t need me today?”

“Need you? Of course I need you today. Who else is gonna walk Sophie and Chloe? Besides, I need to see my patients. This whole week I scheduled virtual visits until I get used to the idea of treating my patients like this.”

I was amazed that she was putting herself through all of this just to learn how to treat me when I had regained control. I truly admired her commitment to her patients, to me in particular. Dr. Crowe had opened up her home and taken me on as a ward. Now she was putting herself in the same humiliation situation that I was in just so she could gain a sense of empathy.

The rest of the week passed with Dr. Crowe remaining naked the entire time. The only thing I saw her wear was a long jacket when she went to work the first day.
