Julie woke up with Adam the next morning and couldn’t believe what she was seeing; she was as naked as he was!
Julie yawned as she stretched out her arms before noticing her pajamas discarded around her. Somehow in her sleep, she thought, she had kicked off her shorts and stripped off her T-shirt, leaving her naked. Adam was still asleep, his bare chest pressed against her… equally bare chest.
For a moment, she pondered the character of this person she’d let into her house. Did she have to be worried about her safety, she asked herself. Did she have to go to her underwear drawer and count her panties, make sure he didn’t hide a pair away to keep as a trophy?
She looked over at him. There’s no way he could’ve stripped me in my sleep, she thought… Could he have?
Looking out the window, Julie saw that she’d woken up early, the sun barely peeking out over the horizon. She got up, grabbing her pajamas, a towel, and her dressing gown, before walking to the shower.
After she’d washed up, she came back into her room, and walked over to where Adam had left his clothes beside her bed. She gathered them up, placing them in a laundry basket and carrying it downstairs to the washing machine. She read a magazine as she waited for the clothes to wash, and then dry, before carrying the basket back up to her room where Adam was still asleep. She decided she’d wake him up to some breakfast, and walked back downstairs, this time to the kitchen.
Her mother, Debbie, was sitting at the kitchen table.
“Good morning,” Julie said pleasantly. “I was just about to make some breakfast.”
“I have to head to the firm in a minute,” said Debbie. “I just need some coffee.”
“I’ll make you some hard boiled eggs too,” said Julie. “You shouldn’t drink coffee on an empty stomach.”
Once Julie was finished making breakfast — hard boiled eggs, black coffee, sausage links and toast — she carried it up the stairs on a tray and entered her room. Adam was sitting up in her bed, talking to someone on her landline. As she approached, he wrapped up the call and hung up.
“Who were you talking to?” asked Julie.
“My friend in Oakland says I can crash with him for a few days.”
“You know, you can stay here if you want. I’m sure I can figure out something to tell my parents.”
“I don’t want to impose,” he said. “You’ve already done more than enough.”
