In the new critically acclaimed movie Poor Things, actress Emma Stone, who is also a producer of the film, has multiple fully nude scenes. In talking about those scenes in interviews, she says something like she’s becoming a nudist. Perhaps someone should write an Emma Stone Nude at the Oscars story…
Ha. I thought about this as I was watching the movie, particularly that there is a part in my original story where Emma and Jennifer argue over nudity and art, and Jennifer accuses Emma of settling for easy roles and not challenging herself.
Well Emma Stone blew that criticism out of the water, didn’t she?
Poor Things was really a great film.
I must admit I’m intrigued by this film. I’ve long been a fan of Alasdair Gray and read the book many years ago. But I’ve heard the film jettisons all the in-jokes about Glasgow politics, not even really set in Glasgow. It opens in the UK this week, so I’ll see if my local cinema is showing it.
Just watched “Poor Things”. It is a very weird movie (the kind I love), and I enjoyed it a lot. I was very impressed by the visuals of the movie. It starts in black and white for the scenes in London, showing a steampunk version of Victorian London, and moves to a very colorful, surrealistic Lisbon.
But what impressed me even more was Emma Stone’s performance. I have seen her in some movies before, but they didn’t leave a lasting impression. But in this one, she did. She is nominated for an Oscar; I think she deserves to win.
Ah, yes, there were certain very nice scenes with her as well… 😉
She won her second Oscar for her role in “Poor Things”. Well deserved, I think.
